Abstract
This research addressed problems: (1) What is the opinion of beach society in Bajoe about free will or predestination?; and (2) What is the influence of free will and predestination to the Bajoe beach societies who work as fishers in their daily activities life. This research is characterized into a field research study with phenomenological approach of ethnography-ethno-methodology. The findings of the research are: (1) the society of Bajoe beach was mostly influenced by predestination. Therefore, many of them saw that humans had not a freedom to determine their deeds; (2) on the other hand, some of them perceived that humans were given a freedom to work and to struggle. This opinion has in common with Mu’tazilah school.
