THE EARTHQUAKE FOLLOWED BY THE PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA OF CHILDREN: A Case Study in the Muhammadiyah Male Orphanage Yogyakarta

Abstract

This research is a study to overview the role of Muhammadiyah Male Orphanage Yogyakarta dealing with the psychological trauma faced by its residents as the effect of Yogyakarta earthquake (N = 43). This study applied descriptive statistic method through quantitative approach. The study, then, found that the correlation between childcare model to psychological trauma is supported; the correlation between religious faith to the psychological trauma is supported; the correlation between childcare model and religious faith is supported; the childcare model influences the psychological trauma suffered by the children after the earthquake is supported; religious faith influences the psychological trauma of children after the earthquake is supported; and childcare model and religious faith are moderating variables in the relationship to the psychological trauma of children after the earthquake.
