Abstract
BMT (Bait al-Ma>l wa al-Tanwi>l) is a sharia’ based micro-lending institution that provides financial services to the lower middle class. Field reports suggest that service quality is very vital to the success of BMT operations. Based on the reports, this research attempted to examine the difference of service quality between BMTs. The quality of service of BMT Amratani Sejahtera, which serves the urban market, was compared to the quality of service of BMT Saka Giri, which serves the rural market. The results exhibited no significant difference (5% level of significance) on five quality attributes between both BMTs,
